A three bedroom refurbished Farmhouse with amazing fjord views
The House
Situated in the hamlet of Bysheim, on the inland island of Osterøy, approximately 45 minutes’ drive from the centre of Bergen, is The Farmhouse @ Bysheim. The house is well over 100 years old and was renovated in recent years.
The house belonged to the owner's grandparents and her parents are still living on the farm. The owner, Hilde, lives in London and used to travel back and forth on 'working holidays' to renovate the house. It took a long time, as she did most of the renovation work herself, with a lot of help from her partner and family. The project was finally finished in June 2013.
The house has amazing views over the fjord, and is conveniently situated for local shops, walking in the mountains of Osterøy, fishing (swimming even!), cycling and other outdoor activities. Bergen is only a 45 min drive away, with lots of things to see and do, as well as being the starting point of many daytrips.
The Views & Sunsets
The house has amazing views over the fjord and sunsets. The view changes all the time, with no sunset looking the same. It is a view you'll never tire off.
Nearby
Osterøy is surrounded by several fjords: Osterfjorden-Romarheimsfjorden, Sørfjorden, and Veafjorden. The highest mountain in the municipality is the 868-metre (2,848 ft) tall Høgafjellet on the municipal border with Vaksdal. There are also many other smaller mountains, with lots of walking on well marked paths.
Bergen is a 45 min drive away, where you can link to many daytrips, either by boat/train/bus.
There are also many local cultural places to visit on the island, with more information at the house.
